ArtsForum is a series of FREE public lectures held at the School of Visual and Performing Arts, Academy of the Arts, University of Tasmania, Inveresk. Both UTAS students and members of the general public are welcome to attend. Lectures are presented by staff, visiting scholars from Tasmania, mainland Australia and overseas, industry professionals and artists-in-residence.
Natalie and Ian will share their insights into the development and vision of the Junction Arts Festival, how their past career experiences led them to running the Festival, and how students can get involved.
Natalie De Vito recently relocated to Tasmania from Toronto, Canada to become the Festival Director of the Junction Arts Festival. As an independent creative producer, curator, consultant and writer, she has worked for over 15 years across the visual and media arts, theatre and performance art in Canada and abroad.
Ian Pidd is the Artistic Director of the Junction Arts Festival and is a freelance director of theatre and events. For four years he was the Artistic Director of Back to Back Theatre with whom his productions included the Green Room nominated Minds Eye and a number of award winning short films.
