Professor Marta Nagy

Professor Nagy is Artist-in-residence at the School of Visual and Performing Arts in the ceramics studio from the 9 April – 20 May 2012. Marta is a professor at the University of Pecs, Hungary. In the Arts Forum she will talk about the arts program at the University of Pecs and her work.

Professor Nagy’s work is an exploration of the juxtapositional relationship between opposing materials. The idiosyncratic nature of materials is explored from delicate porcelain to the rigors of grogged stoneware. Her work is rich in symbols, and though non-figurative there is an ongoing human narrative.
