present a seminar by
The first Serbian Commissioner for Equality,
on
Ms Petrušić is in Australia for a study visit with her staff to examine comparative lessons relating to strategies for protecting minority rights, with particular reference to our approach to indigenous issues and also questions of gender equality. She will be accompanied by her Assistant Commissioner for Equality, Ms Kosana Beker.
Prior to her current role, Ms Petrušić was the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Nis. She has spent 20 years working to improve human rights in Serbia, mostly focused on gender discrimination and mediation. She has also been a Professor of Civil Process Law.
