Women in the North is a networking and mentoring group for female staff on the Launceston campuses.

The group aims share information about what different areas and individuals within the University do and how this all fits into the overall framework of the University. Women in the North provides the opportunity for northern staff members to build their professional network and to meet colleagues from different areas within the University.  Through this relationship building, Women in the North members increase their Utas network and have an increased opportunity for collaboration across the northern campuses.

At each meeting, one or two representatives from the group will lead the meeting by providing information about their role at the University, leading the discussion for around 10 minutes each.  Each presenter will also touch on their career pathway.

On Friday 1 June, hear from:

  • Carey Mather, Lecturer, School of Nursing and Midwifery

Carey will talk about the Clinical Facilitators Network, the Teaching Development Grant and the developing "Communities of Practice" initiative.

This will be followed by informal networking. Please bring your own lunch.
