The first in the Faculty of Education Conversation Series. The Education Conversation Series provide an opportunity for critical thinkers in education to broaden the conversations about education beyond what is generally reported in the media.
This first event will feature Professor David Berliner, a Visiting Distinguish Fellow at the University of Tasmania and will focus on education standards.
David Berliner is an educational psychologist and author of the bestseller, The Manufactured Crisis. Berliner challenges, among other things, the common belief that high stakes testing is necessary for accountability. He has written or co-authored many books and has also authored more than 200 published articles, reports and book chapters. He is a challenging and provocative commentator and a widely recognised educator.
