Summary

Greg compares the practice of Landscape Architecture with Urban Design, Place Making and Land Use Planning. He ventures into the murky waters of multi-disciplinary teamwork, by letting go of the traditional tiller and navigating the shifting winds of developing design through open community and stakeholder engagement. Tony explores questions about Urban Design; What Is It, Who Does It and Does It Really Matter?

Description

Professional disciplines are morphing to address the gaps in the design industry where Landscape Architects are failing to fill. The holistic skills that link ‘land with people’ are being overlooked and as a profession, who is at fault?

Greg sees this presentation as an opportunity to explore the present day construct of what is the practice of Landscape Architecture compared with Urban Design, Place Making, Land Use Planning, etc. As part of the exploration he will introduce his practice’s approach that positions his team and skills to be integral to a project’s development.

The discussion promises to venture into the murky waters of multi-disciplinary teamwork, by letting go of the traditional tiller and navigating the shifting winds of developing design through open community and stakeholder engagement.
