The talents of Tasmanian tertiary art students are once again on show with the 2012 Birchalls Tertiary Art Prize for 2D works, an initiative of well known Tasmania firm A W Birchall & Sons Pty Ltd and the NEW Gallery at the University of Tasmania.
The winner of the Birchalls Tertiary Art Prize will be announced by prominent artist David Keeling at the opening of the Finalists’ Exhibition, which will be held at the NEW Gallery, University of Tasmania, Newnham Drive, Newnham, running from Thursday 13 September to Friday 5 October 2012.
The judges for the 2012 Prize are Dr Polixeni Papapetrou, a widely known Australian photo media artist who has held numerous solo exhibitions in Australia, Europe, Asia and the US, and the Director of the Devonport Regional Gallery and practicing artist Dr Ellie Ray.
