The Denison Debate series provides a forum for more open and vibrant Tasmanian conversations about ideas and values in our society and is hosted by the Inglis Clark Centre for Civil Society.

The Creative Economy - Fantasy, Strategy or Reality?

The recent publication of Tasmania - The Tipping Point?, a collaboration between Griffith REVIEW and UTAS, has injected fresh ideas into old debates about Tasmania's future. The creative economy has been one of the hottest topics of national discussion. Many Tasmanians want to know more about translating its potential into downhome reality.

Associate Professor Natasha Cica, Director of the Inglis Clark Centre for Civil Society will be in conversation with:

  • Esa Laaksonen, Director of the Alvar Aalto Academy, Finland
  • Professor Julianne Schultz AM, Founding Editor of Griffith REVIEW
  • The Hon David O'Byrne MP, Tasmanian Minister for Economic Development
  • Rachel Edwards, Co-editor, Island Magazine
