Have you ever wanted to have a "taste" of university life? Maybe you’ve thought about enrolling in a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Social Science but were unsure what you’d find if you did. Perhaps you’re a college student thinking about the next step towards uni. Or maybe you’re just looking for some fun intellectual stimulation on a Wednesday evening.

Is Australia a Kind Nation?

Presented by

Dr Nicholas Hookway

Are Australians less kind or compassionate than they used to be? What is the cause of this moral decline? Or does it even exist? In this lecture, sociologist Dr Nicholas Hookway presents his national research on kindness in Australia, suggesting there’s enough reason to question the conventional wisdom around moral decline. This lecture will appeal to anyone interested in understanding social change in Australian society and beyond.
