Please note this Arts Forum will be held in the Academy Gallery, School of Creative Arts, (Inveresk) on Wednesday 26 July

Cool & Collected brings together eight recent graduates from the University of Tasmania, who have all established significant early career achievements. The artists have made selections from across the various University of Tasmania Collections. The aim of Cool & Collected is to showcase the contemporary relevance of the University of Tasmania Collections, and the substantial contribution that these holdings make to the realm of academic research. Cool & Collected exhibits the deliverables of the University of Tasmania Collections as contemporary stimuli for Object Based Teaching and Learning. The exhibition delivers a divergent and inspirational perception of what our University Collections contribute toward the discourse of academic study. Cool & Collected speaks to the past of our collections, whilst projecting forward with a narrative specific to the rich material that compile the extensive collections of the University of Tasmania.

Cool & Collected includes a catalogue with essay by historian Marcus Colla. In 2016 Colla was the first graduate of the University of Tasmania to be awarded a highly prestigious Gates Scholarship to study for a PhD in the Faculty of Arts, Cambridge University.

Cool & Collected is part of the Academy Gallery Return Program. Return is aimed towards increasing the involvement of University of Tasmania Alumni in the Academy Gallery exhibition program as artists, exhibition curators, administrative staff and guest speakers.
