Scott Balmforth is a University of Tasmania graduate and founding Director and Principal of TERROIR. With 20 years’ experience in the architecture and urban design, he has led a range of award winning and internationally published residential, commercial and public projects. Scott has an invited Masters of Architecture by practice research degree from RMIT University and has been an Adjunct Professor of the University of Tasmania’s School of Architecture since 2008.
Terroir is a Tasmanian-based international practice with offices in Hobart, Sydney and Copenhagen. Through architecture, urban planning and creative research projects, TERROIR is dedicated to the realisation of projects that insist on the invention of new possibilities out of each unique condition.
Terroir: practice + projects Scott will discuss the development of design ideas and practice methods through a range of local and international projects of varying scales – from a small toilet block to the practice’s current work on the $58million new Penguin Parade Visitor Centre on Phillip Island (Vic).
