The Prometheus Project

Presented by: SOCA Theatre 1st year students
Directed by: Chris Jackson and Grace Roberts

Theatre students of the University of Tasmania’s School of Creative Arts (SOCA) present their first-year production, The Prometheus Project. Directed by Chris Jackson and Grace Roberts, the show is a devised piece written and adapted in conjunction with first year students and second year student scriptwriters at SOCA Theatre.

The myth of Prometheus has many parallels with today’s society, with ‘alternative facts’ and ‘fake news’ blinding our judgment and hiding truths. The production will explore themes of knowledge, conformity and exposing the truth using a unique mix of performance mediums and approaches.

The Prometheus Project will be performed simultaneously across two locations; the Launceston CBD and the Duck Reach Power Station at Cataract Gorge, connected by live-streaming.

Dates: 13th - 14th October
Venue: Brisbane Street Mall
Time: 7.30pm

This is a free outdoor event with limited seating available and please dress appropriately for the weather.

*PLEASE NOTE: The performance includes mature themes, gore/horror and strobe effects.
