National Science Week is Australia’s annual opportunity to meet scientists, discuss the hot topics, do science and celebrate its cultural and economic impact on society.

First held in 1997, National Science Week has become one of Australia’s largest festivals. Last year saw a staggering 1.3 million people participate in over 1,800 events and activities. Each year Tasmania boasts the most events per-capita across the state, including many in regional areas.

The University of Tasmania hosts and participates in events for National Science Week every August, and is a major supporter. Visit the National Science Week website for further information.
