The University of Tasmania is participating in this year’s national 5
Minute Research Pitch (5RP) competition, hosted by the University of
Southern Queensland.

Similar to the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition for higher degree
research candidates, 5RP provides Level A to C academics an opportunity
to showcase their research to a diverse audience and to potentially win
funding to further their research.

Detailed eligibility and competition information is provided in the 5RP 2018 Guidelines (PDF). Competitors will compete across two discipline groupings – Science and Health,  Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

The winner from each grouping will receive $1000 to be credited to their university research account and an all-expenses paid trip to represent the University at the national final in Brisbane in November with further prizes on offer.

We invite staff, students and members of the community to come along to hear about some of the exciting research being conducted by our early to mid-career researchers.

Interested level A to C academic staff can register to compete here. Registrations close 12 October 2018.

This 5RP heat will be held at the Newnham campus. It is the first of two Institutional 5RP heats that will be held by the University of Tasmania.
